Should I Have a Plan B? - Part 1

When people make plans they love to have a plan B; in case the original fails, they can have something to fall back on. Is not this why so many who call themselves Christians tend to compromise, and people also tend to fail?

Jesus asked His disciples, "will ye also leave me?" Peter answered: "Lord, to whom (or to where) shall we go?". He knew who Jesus is, "the way, truth, and life", if he was to leave, to who or what would he (or any other person for that matter) go to? He must have looked around himself and all he could see was blind men who were already dead (because they where sinners) and condemned (because they refused to accept Jesus John 3:18, Mark 16:16 ). He (Peter) knew there was no other way, no other truth (can there be two truths?), and there was no other life except Jesus which is why He told the priests, pharisees and saducces "neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name given under heaven among men, where by we must be saved (Acts 4:12)". And am sure he could not reconcile why these people would refuse to believe in Jesus as the Christ and be saved.

Jesus said in John 14: 6 "I am the way, the truth and the life, NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME".

Peter and John got beaten for healing a man and professing the name of Jesus and were threatened not to mention or preach in the name of Jesus again. But what did the Bible tell us? The Bible says "and they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His (Jesus) name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ" Acts 5:41-42.

Paul who was one of the chief persecutors of Christians at the time, when he saw the light, and heard the voice: encountered Jesus; he had this to say "what shall separate us from the love of Jesus Christ?" Romans 8:35, 37-39.

Peter, when many of Christ's disciples went away and Jesus asked them, the twelve, if they would also go, had this to say, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the Living God" John 6:66-69.
